A seed was planted and began rooting in 1995 when I started my journey in a long-term care facility as a housekeeper. Over the years, I have worked in both long-term and short-term care settings, starting as a housekeeper and later transitioning into the role of an activity assistant. In that role, I had the privilege to participate in care conferences with residents and their families, where I gained a deep insight into the critical gaps in care that many individuals faced. Those humble and insightful beginnings are where the birth of Kay’s Praying Hands was rooted!
My professionally developed background in hospice care, social work, and case management led me to a position where I served as a Social Services Director in a long-term care facility for three years. During that time, I recognized advocacy was more than just a part of my job—it was my calling! There, I ensured that residents and their families received the highest quality of care and support.
